Rob & Beca

About Us

Hi, we’re Beca and Rob — the husband-and-wife team behind Becky D’s Gluten Free Bake Shoppe!Over 15 years ago, I (Beca) was diagnosed with celiac disease. Rob has also had to battle digestive issues including Crohn’s disease. Between the two of us, we’ve come to understand deeply just how important it is to be careful with what we eat — not just ingredients, but how food is handled. That’s why we renovated our home kitchen to create a dedicated, celiac-safe gluten free baking space, free from gluten, dairy, and nuts.We know from experience how stressful it can be to find food that’s safe and actually tastes good. So we decided to create it ourselves — and share it with others who get it.Together, we run Becky D’s with a focus on trust, care, and community. If you’re in Stratford, you may have seen us at the Stratford Sunday Market or other local markets — we love meeting people face-to-face and sharing our baked goods with folks who truly appreciate safe, allergy-friendly food.Outside our baking business, Rob is a musician and I’m an author/patent administrator. This little bake shoppe is where our creative worlds and wellness journeys come together. If you’re curious, click the link below to get access to Rob’s music or check out my book "Live Loved" coming soon — we love sharing all the creative parts of our lives with you. Thanks for stopping by. We’re so glad you’re here!

FAQs

+ Is it a dedicated gluten free facility?
We are not a fully dedicated gluten free facility, as there is gluten in our kitchen. However, we do not use airborne gluten ingredients like wheat flour. We've set up a fully separated, dedicated gluten free section of our kitchen and take great care to avoid cross contamination. All of our products are prepared to be safe for people with celiac disease.
+ How do I get my order?
Due to zoning bylaws and insurance, we are unable to offer pickups at this time. Instead, we offer free delivery within Stratford, and a small delivery fee outside the area (waived for orders over a certain amount — see below). We also offer Stratford-based meet-ups. Just let us know a time, location (like a well-known parking lot), and vehicle info so we know who to look for!
+ What are the delivery costs?
  • Free – Stratford
  • $5 – 5–10 km from Stratford (free over $75)
  • $10 – 10–20 km
  • $20 – 20–30 km
If you're unsure which category your address falls into, feel free to message us!
+ What if I or someone I'm ordering for has other allergies?
Please let us know about any allergies or intolerances when you message us. We’ll do our best to accommodate requests whenever possible. However, please note that we are currently unable to accommodate allergies to rice or corn.

Gut Health & Living Well

If you’ve ever felt like you're doing everything right for your health—and still end up feeling sick—you’re not alone. My journey with celiac disease started with cutting out gluten, but it didn’t stop there. Over the years, I’ve had to eliminate (and reintroduce) so many different foods—dairy, eggs, nuts, nightshades, even raw fruits and veggies. It’s frustrating, confusing, and at times completely exhausting. But I’ve also learned a few things that truly help support my gut—and maybe they’ll help you, too.Mornings start with warm lemon water, a small ritual that helps kickstart digestion. I focus on keeping liquids in my diet, often with homemade soups—just broth, soft veggies, and leftover meat. It’s simple, gentle, and nourishing. Smoothies are another go-to, especially in the morning when my body needs something easy to break down and absorb. One thing that’s made a noticeable difference for me is doTERRA essential oils. Frankincense is my favourite—when I’m bloated or hurting, I roll it along my spine and across my stomach, then lie down with a heat pad. It’s calming, grounding, and usually brings real relief. DigestZen is another great (and more affordable) option that supports digestion, but I keep coming back to frankincense for its soothing, anti-inflammatory properties. If you're navigating gut issues, I see you. It can feel isolating—but you're not in this alone. If you’d like more tips, encouragement, or resources for supporting your gut, [LINK COMING SOON]—I’d love to share more of what’s helped me.
